About Ballands Bowmen

Formed in 1970, Ballands Bowmen is based near Wincanton, Somerset, with members from Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire. Although primarily a field archery club, some members also compete successfully in target archery tournaments.

Ballands is affiliated to Archery GB www.archerygb.org , National Field Archery Society www.nfas.net and English Field Archery Association https://efaafieldarcher.com

The Club welcomes and supports all members whatever their ambitions in archery, and whatever type of bow they choose to shoot.

Ballands is fortunate to have access to a variety of practice venues, indoor and outdoor, and encourages archers to come together and shoot with other members, whether preparing for competition or purely for the enjoyment of shooting arrows at a target.

There is a wealth of knowledge and experience within the Club and several members are NFAS and Archery GB qualified coaches, who can assist with equipment or shooting technique.

The Club runs beginner training courses, normally during the winter months.

Ballands Bowmen hosts open field archery shoots during the competition season. See Open Shoots
