About Ballands Bowmen

One of England's premier field archery clubs, located in historic Penselwood since 1970


Formed in 1970, the club takes its name from Ballands House, Penselwood, Somerset, where it was founded by the late Major Robin Archer. Field archery is the focus of this top UK archery club whose members have a history of achievements at National, European and World level. Ballands currently has around 40 members.

NFAS Coach Training Course

Six Ballands members attended the NFAS Coach Training Course in March 2017 and all of them passed both the practical assessment and the written assignment. Penny Cox, Yvonne Oakshott, Marleen Toomer, Sonya Ward, Pauline Wells and Tim Woolcott now hold NFAS Coaching certificates. They join Ballands team of qualified AGB Coaches: Andrew, Jane, Louise and Lizzy Rees, Adam Strachan-Stevens, and Colin and Jennie Vaughan-Jackson

Ballands Bowmen Annual Awards for most improved Archer for 2016
