About Ballands Bowmen

One of England's premier field archery clubs, located in historic Penselwood since 1970


Formed in 1970, the club takes its name from Ballands House, Penselwood, Somerset, where it was founded by the late Major Robin Archer. Field archery is the focus of this top UK archery club whose members have a history of achievements at National, European and World level. Ballands currently has around 40 members.

Autum & Winter Indoor Sessions

From October 1st archery will be on Monday and Wednesday evenings in the Memorial Hall, Wincanton.

 

Shooting time is from 6:45pm. Note that on Monday 15th, 22nd, 29th October and 5th November shooting will not start until 8pm because of beginner training beforehand.

Indoor shooting will break for Christmas/New Year on Wednesday 19th December. We'll start again on 7th January and run through to Wednesday 17th April.

 

As usual please sign in and out using the book placed in the foyer. Guests must also sign in/out.

 

At times when the shooting line is busy please limit your shooting to 4 arrows per end and form a second detail so that the  shooting line isn't extended wide of the outer bosses.

Members' shooting fees are £2 adults and £1 under 18s. Guest archer fees are £3 adults and £1.50 under 18s.
